International Services Leadership at HPL - Exciting Updates

From Liz Sargent, 3/7:
I am excited to update everybody on the growth of International Services Leadership at HPL, including the formation of the International Services Advisory Team and the International Services Corps, and the opening of 2 upcoming leadership positions.

The International Services Advisory Team has been established with our first 7 Advisory Team members, who will serve a 2-year term as a lead team to develop and innovate the scope of International Services provided by HPL. This team represents a powerful combination of expertise and experience, from Youth Services to Collection Development to partnership and team management. Please join me in congratulating our International Services Advisory Team!

Translated HPL documents on their way!

From Helen Chou, 2:02PM:

I wanted to let you know that the International Services – Translated Documents binders should be arriving at your locations this week!

This binder serves as your location’s way to store copies of translated documents and other International Services material, organized by language.

There are 5 language sections, separated by white dividers. Each section has 8 plastic two-pocket multi-color document holders – to store a potential of 16 different documents per language! The pockets can hold approximately 20-30 copies of each document.

Our team has taken time to populate the binder with the existing translated documents. You can replenish these documents by ordering from Communications, and you can use the additional tabs to store new translated documents as they come in (More are coming!).

These binders can be placed at desks for staff’s convenience. Please walk through the binders with your staff to show them the different languages and documents.

The white dividers each set off a different language, with the following color-coding. (If you want, you can use pen to write the names of the languages on the white divider tabs – they are ‘Write-On’ tabs.)
  •     [Yellow] Spanish
  •  [Red]      Vietnamese
  •  [White]    Chinese
  •  [Green]   Arabic
  •  [Pink]      French

Enjoy your binders! For any questions or translation requests, please do not hesitate to contact me.

UPDATE: From Karen, 6/24/17: The notebooks have arrived and are available at the information desk.
