**New Media Cabinet**

Greetings all,

We were lucky enough to get a new media cabinet to hold all of our CDs and DVDs.

*Please note* CDs are on the top shelf. 1st drawer CDs 1-170 - 2nd drawer 171 - up.
DVDs are on the bottom shelf. 1st drawer DVDs 1-100 - 2nd drawer 101 - up.

Please try to keep the CDs and DVDs separated and make sure that they are labeled correctly when shelved. [[ie: DVD slips with DVDs and CD slips with CDs]]

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Justine

Hello all.

I just want to take a moment to follow up on a couple of things regarding this issue. Please keep in mind that the system placed holds on holdshelves prematurely for several days before the problem was detected and reported (many thanks to Tula @ WAL for noticing and reporting the problem). You may find that customers come in looking for holds for which they have received pick up notices, but the items are missing from the holdshelf. In that case, look at the item record in Millennium, call the branch at which the item was last checked in, and ask a staff member there to check their holdshelf. Since the system printed holdshelf wrappers prematurely at the sending location, a number were placed on holdshelf at the sending location, instead of being set “In Transit” and put in Delivery to the pick-up location. There is a high likelihood that calling the sending location to ask that the holdshelf be checked for the item will result in its being found. Please also remember to offer the customer our sincerest regrets for any inconvenience or frustration the issue caused, and assure him/her that it has been resolved. Finally, report any problems with the III system to the HALAN Help Desk as quickly as possible after it is noticed. You can reach the HALAN Help Desk at 832-393-1570 or at HPL.HelpDesk@houstontx.gov .

As always, thanks for everything that you do.

**Branch Statistics**

Greetings all,

Remember to mark down whenever you have questions asked of you by a customer. These statistics are vital in portraying the true amount of work that we do here at Southwest. We are selling ourselves short if we do not keep accurate statistics on that.
A reference question is if you help someone find a book or information source, etc. The other column is for questions such as where is the restroom/water fountain or what time do you close tonight.
(Thanks to Patrick from STE for this lovely info.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Justine
