Greetings all,
I'm excited to inform you that our FLIP kiosk has arrived. The Family Literacy Involvement Program (FLIP) helps develop early learners' reading and comprehension skills. It is a partnership between the Children's Museum of Houston and HPL. For more information on FLIP, click here.
How does it work?
Checking out: The patron will bring the FLIP kit to the customer service desk and check it out. (the kit does have a HPL scannable barcode on the tag)
Checking in: The patron will return the FLIP kit (including most of the contents) to the customer service desk. When checking in the FLIP kit, please make sure that the book is returned. If the book is not returned, we will charge the patron for the price of the book. Once the kit is checked in, put it the delivery bin and send it to the Children's Museum (CMH) for replenishing.
If we run out of FLIP kits on the display kiosk, the key to access more kits is in the same place as the keys for the deposit.
Please take some time and familiarize yourself with the FLIP kiosk and its contents. There is a folder attached to the kiosk giving the patron information on the FLIP kits.
If the patron wants to request a FLIP kit that we do not have here at SWX...one can be place on hold via the HPL catalog.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks,
Justine
