Space Heaters Prohibited in City Facilities

Due to the chilly nature of the weather in Houston during this time of year, it may be tempting to use a device to warm your office during working hours. I wanted to remind everyone that City policy prohibits the use of space heaters on all City premises due to the potential risk of fire that they pose. I have attached City policy AP 7-1 for your review. The section on space heaters is 7.2.6.3. Please forward this information to all staff in your areas and ensure that everyone is compliant with this policy. Thank you for your prompt attention.
