Training Opportunities & Reminders

For those seeking training opportunities, please be reminded that there is an Approved Online Training Opportunitiespage on the training portal that provides information for FREE trainings from vendors that are pre-approved for training credit. Some trainings may require you to create an account to register for an offering. Please follow the registration instructions per vendor. Send certificates of completion to hpltraining@houstontx.gov and include your name, employee ID, title of training, date taken and number of training hours.

There is also an Archived Webinars page on the portal that provides access to recorded webinars. Upon completion of any archived webinar, please be sure to provide meaningful comments in the Comments section and emailhpltraining@houstontx.gov to let us know that you have watched the webinar and provided comments. Be sure to include your name, employee ID, title of training, date taken and number of training hours.

For any trainings that require funding, a Funding Request Form must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance. Funding must be pre-approved prior to registration – this includes the Learning Development Center (LDC). Please do not register for any fee-based offerings on the TMS until approval is provided by HPL Training.

As always, please seek supervisorial approval prior to taking any training and submit documentation to HPL Trainingupon completion of the training so we may update your training record accordingly. Please share this information with your team members as appropriate.
